Cats haven’t checked in on me for a bit. It’s nice. A bit creepy, but nice.

Okay human, now do something interesting.

Oh and for a little bit of Nushell geekery, here’s how I copied the newest photo from Dropbox sync to the folder for this post — since neither are named in a readily accessible pattern for quick typing:

Code Sample
    cp (ls ~/Dropbox/Camera | last | get name) $"(ls content/posts/2022/07/ | last | get name)/cats.jpg"

Figured out how to do text snippets in VS Code for Dendron notes. My wish for this world is less JSON.

Would YAML be better? Maybe, but no. I’m thinking something more like Emacsyasnippet files. Sure a file for every snippet may sound like overkill. It’s a heck of a lot easier to figure out what a single template looks without filtering from JSON list and then translating from JSON string to template string.

Anyways, snippets for timestamped list items in Dendron.

Code Sample
    {
    "itime": {
        "prefix": "itime",
        "scope": "markdown",
        "body": "- **$CURRENT_HOUR:$CURRENT_MINUTE:** ",
        "description": "timestamp for interstitial notes"
    },
    "inow": {
        "prefix": "inow",
        "scope": "markdown",
        "body": "- **$CURRENT_YEAR-$CURRENT_MONTH-$CURRENT_DATE $CURRENT_HOUR:$CURRENT_MINUTE:** ",
        "description": "datetime for interstitial notes"
    }
}

Handy for interstitial journaling. Take the claims about interstitial journaling with as much salt as you need. I use timestamped notes to remember when I did, said, or thought a thing.

For some of us “time tracking” is just a tool to — um — track time.

Too many people doing at-here and I’m gonna have to turn off sound for Slack notifications. So many knock-knock sounds and not one “orange you glad I didn’t say banana”

Sound sensitivity today is such that I’m trying to figure out if there’s a volume setting between zero and one percent so it’s just one of those days I think.
