Good lord but I forget the power of social signaling sometimes.
At the clinic for a clogged ear. No big deal. Forgot my mask. No posted rules or anything — half the waiting room is unmasked — but there are masks by the door. Grab one and sit down to wait.
Gradually everyone goes to pick up a mask from the door. Now new folks coming in, scanning the room, then grabbing masks.
I guess if beardy white old dude is cool with it they are too?

@whatzaname yeah I honestly don’t know. The masks are right next to the door, but easy to miss if you aren’t thinking about them. I still think the best spot is directly facing you when you walk into the place.

@KSargent Not so much cool, but part of neurodivergent masking taking advantage of benefits granted by privilege means I’m really good at casually looking like of course I’m supposed to be here and of course I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing and shouldn’t you be doing that too?
