Been hearing good things about #Enshrouded — and the Early Access release date announcement trailer is cute. Looking forward to uh 2024-01-24.

@Greg Christmas tree sweatshirts are never a good idea, which paradoxically means it’s never too early.

@nikitonsky @bitprophet explaining Kubernetes the other day as “a complex tool for Google-scale problems used by other companies that think if they add Google complexity they’ll get Google success.”

@tek I aim for “useful doofus” as opposed to “not a doofus” because there are limits to my acting abilities.

@tek regardless, you got this!

Shifted to a different room so I could get away from the dogs and get some work done, which delights the cats who are nevertheless unmoved by the whole “work” thing I babble about.

Apparently I need to give more consideration to the feline accessibility of my workspaces because he is just over the moon excited about being able to reach me for skritches.

Described someone’s voice as “taught 3rd grade for twenty years and walks that fine line between completely unflappable and about to totally lose their shit.”

hackers.town: 2023-11-20 Mon 12:20

I don’t think they taught third grade for twenty years but maybe. But hopefully you know the vocal quality I’m trying to describe.

Pondering an analogue to Betteridge’s law must exist for AITA-type questions because of how often the answer is “yes.”

@nukehavoc I enjoyed it. Not just the fact that it was a comic book movie, which there are darn few of in the MCU, but that they managed the cringe to perfection, almost to a Monty Python mastery of timing. “this is cute; this is getting maybe annoying; okay it’s cute; I SWEAR TO GOD I AM GONNA — oh it’s over … that was cute. I wish they’d kept going.”

hackers.town: 2023-11-20 Mon 21:01

One thing I can’t help noticing even in the movies I like.

MCU sure does love its sympathetic genocide. “Oh they went too far slaughtering an entire species but I can kinda see their point.”

give the villain a high and tight and a pepe pin and they’re all set for their Rolling Stone interview
