A note to hiring managers: if you know your codebase needs big cleaning up, but you’d like to still recognize it three weeks after your enthusiastically caffeinated dev starts, DO NOT say “we want you to take ownership of this code.”

Maybe something more like “we need a good steward for this code” or something similar that keeps them out of house flipping mode.

I always thought of Spoon Theory as covering chronic illnesses with physical impact, so I’ve avoided using it for myself. I say “cognitive resources” instead to describe my similar but not identical #ADHD issues.

But maybe I can have a little fun with it. What about “Spork Theory?”

I’ve got an entire damn drawer of resources, but they’re individually wrapped, not reusable, not well-suited to any one task, and break if you try too hard.
