It is sufficiently cold that my key cannot unlock the car doors.

@philsplace @mjgardner @rekiwi oh I’m sure it’ll be plenty problematic but winter here is basically a sneeze. I don’t have any errands to run for at least a week, by which time we’ll be back to our normal liquid state of weather.

@WuMargaret It worked out ok. A little hot water on the door over the lock was all it took.

It’s 22F. Barely even cold.

@WuMargaret It’s cold enough compared to usual that I’ll keep my walks brief — my locally purchased thermals are not up to real winter weather — but yeah still at least 10F too warm for busted pipes and other such winter wonderland fun times.

I’m not a huge fan of cold weather but as long as I can still flush a toilet it’s not the worst I’ve seen and I’ll be okay.

@IamMrsGeek you’re only saying that because I offered to shave before giving you bath grapes

I should know better than to leave Bouncy Dog with her when she’s trying to sleep. No matter how cozy he looks, he’d rather be laying by the desk where he can see me.

Decided on Obsidian for the experiment of seeding a knowledge garden with my blog posts, because I needed a little more tooling to handle inconsistencies in 20-mumble years’ worth of source pages.

Originally tried dropping the blog pages into other vaults & graphs, then finding links to existing pages. But the site’s developed its own flow over the years. Easier to extract its recurring concepts as new notes than to identify matches in some collection built on different assumptions.

@Wrewdison Honestly if I was just managing a collection of Markdown notes from scratch I’d probably go with something like Tangent. Obsidian is overkill for a lot of common use cases.
