Got a new headset that’s just the newest version of the last one I accidentally broke, which was the new version of the previous one I accidentally broke.

I am rough on things.

I don’t even bother paying extra for “unbreakable” because I’ve proven to be the exception to that rule too many times.

With a 24 second build time, Netlify’s free tier of 300 build minutes per month is not much of a constraint.

Basically what I’m doing — when I remember it, which likely will be a constraint — is somewhere near the end of my day I pull note updates into the site sources, run tests to make sure it works, and commit the changes. Somewhere less than 30s later the updates are live.

May want to do something to show newest cards or something, though. Not too keen on giving visitors an Easter Egg hunt.

I could automate the pull & test cycle, but at this point the manual activity reminds me to process my notes a little, refactor bits to relevant cards, maybe designate private limbo cards as officially public or private.

So the ritual is good.

Automated list of new cards run counter to the flow I’m thinking of. I’m my primary audience for my site. Just mention any interesting new or updated cards when I do my weekly 🤞 update post. Posts are covered by RSS. Get search back in, and OMG I implemented the site flow I wanted 15 years ago.

I got a little better, but the tools got a lot better.
