oh no i thought of a way to make my terrible idea even worse
was thinking “how do I get metadata about my Logseq files? You know, creation timestamp, last change timestamp, maybe previous history for redirects in the published graph?”
:blobthinking:
Well, since I don’t trust Logseq sync, I use Git-based sync.
:blobthinking:
Now I’m looking at Go libraries that I can use as a sort of Git porcelain.

To give you more of an idea just how much of a Pacific Northwest person I am:
I keep forgetting the term “air conditioning.” Fish around for something that maps to what I know.
Multiple times I told @IamMrsGeek that I have checked or adjusted “the cooling.”

@grmpyprogrammer of whoever came up with the Python debugger?
hackers.town: 2024-07-05 Fri 11:02
@grmpyprogrammer Ah well. I tried.
I’ve found the debugger slightly less painful under VS Code, but honestly continue to lean hardest on log debugging.

Unfortunately my Logseq-parsing code is really good at identifying inconsistencies introduced by early morning bulk edit sessions.

I’m sorry what?

@thegibson yeah it’s hot enough for me here.

My code spending 850ms doing a frankly ridiculous amount of transformation when parsing and exporting my Logseq graph.
Writing a 16MB JSON file into a Hugo site that uses content adapters and a derivative of the logseq-hugo-template theme. 3-6s to build on Windows.
Don’t know if any of the above will last, but it’s kind of fun having basically no wait for building a publishable graph.

Switched some of the more verbose logging over to Debug level and now the ridiculous amount of transformation happens in 450ms.

Hardly ever saw clouds lit up from below before moving here. Now it’s practically routine.

Got as far as listing all the files in HEAD via go-git, realized that yes I can do the nifty tricks I want, but it’d complicate things unnecessarily at this point.
Saved the code sketch in my notes, though. That’ll come in handy later.
