@deafferret which would be more impressive if it wasn’t a default setting.

You’re supposed to use --no-break-system-packages

@deafferret depends on who you ask.

@amd it’s fussier than Steam + Proton, less fussy than WINE — as of 5-10 years ago when I last messed with WINE.

You are encouraged to set up separate bottle environments for every game. I haven’t done that.

It’s nice to have a few more games from my library but TBH I’m counting pennies for a new Linux gaming PC.

@amd after a couple years using Nvidia on the now-deceased dual boot, AMD is my plan yep.

Switching between three unrelated and as yet unpublished iterations of my blog because sometimes you gotta just channel the ADHD into the least damaging direction.

hackers.town: 2024-12-09 Mon 20:55

the iterations

Nanoc with an excessive number of Ruby helpers

Nikola with an ever-expanding number of Python tweaks

Hugo and Markdown, but no – A Perl script using Pandoc to transform Markdown posts into Org trees that get assembled into a file for export as Markdown by ox-hugo

I stopped pretending any one iteration was my true heart’s desire and just named a persistent tmux session for each.

@trs @genehack winter sunset in Tucson isn’t until 5pm. Sun starts showing itself in the morning by 7am.

I like it but I tell you what it has taken some getting used to.
