Well, most of us are pacing ourselves for the long haul. I still have to weed the garden a little bit.

We’re job hunting and down to $68. I don’t need to add any expenses, such as a damn heart attack.

Putting on Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead for a little brain comfort food while I get stuff done.

Always relevant but especially now.

Free-floating hypothesis that buddy comedies are mostly taking an ADHD personality archetype and an #autism personality archetype, and the movie is the hijinks which ensue.

No, no evidence. And maybe it’s just my favorite buddy comedy adjacent movies, like Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead and Shaun of the Dead.

(and hanging off of that, the Player in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern is what you get if you somehow properly integrate your neurospicy traits to stop arguing with each other)

Figuring out server-side search for my site and having much fun. Refreshing some skills that got neglected with backend dev and database admin got split into teams – insert ancient webmaster tangential rant about how dev got split into dev and ops and then devops instead of reuniting them gave us dev, ops, and devops –

what was i saying

oh right

Doing db admin stuff and also learning full-text search in Postgres.

Neighbor went by with Sausage Dog slowly accompanying, and Bouncy Dog didn’t bark at all! Just kinda stared out the window with a sad little whine.

I think they are indirectly united against a common enemy, Tiny Fluffdog.

Huh. The society6 artist storefront is going to only sell from specific artists, and I’m not one of them.

I’d be hurt if I used society6 more.

As it is?

Writing some code I was going to blog about but it’s slowly turning into code I don’t think I’d want anyone to see.

But I can easily fix it by uh rewriting everything that the code processes.

Hm.

I routinely make a post, reread it after the fact, realize it’s kind of uncomfortable, and edit in a CW.

My favorite usage of editing functionality.

Periodic reminder to myself and others that GitHub should probably at best host mirrors for your primary code repo, as opposed to keeping all your eggs in one fox den.

Okay it’s a henhouse not a fox den. It just happens that the foxes own the property it’s on.

and tbh even though I care more about individual data privacy and integrity (a lot) than that of organizations (pretty much not at all), orgs would be smart to exercise GitHub caution as well.

Well awesome. I got full text search working in PostgreSQL for my site blog posts.

All you need is access to my laptop while I’m logged in, and a psql prompt.

Hm.

Guess I can work on the user experience factor later.
